Rather than looking at finance through the conventional economic lens, in this artist’s book Block is approaching finance as a mode of perception, shifting the question from what money is to how financial quantities may be thought, imagined and felt.

“With this book and the related paintings I am considering how finance may generate horizons of possibility, desire, fear and belief.” In this sense this book experiments with a new phenomenology of finance, bringing the abstractions of financial perception into the interpretive realm of abstract art.
